Hyperhidrosis
Sweating is normal and its main function is to control body temperature. As the water in the sweat evaporates, the surface of the skin cools. Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by abnormally increased sweating, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. It most commonly occurs in the underarms, hands and feet and affects up to 3% of the population. Dr. Gerstein will help diagnosis your excess sweating and discuss treatment options including Botox® Therapeutic and other topical solutions. Many insurance plans will cover the cost of Botox for hyperhidrosis when administered by a physician.
